Myself Is So Bad Ass Myself Is So Good

I have been sucked into this internet world.
I have become a digital version of myself.

This is a Mii I made of myself on Marg's old-roommate's Wii.
I had more fun making the Mii than playing the video game.

I have been spending wayyyy too many hours in front of my laptop watching videos on youtube, blogging, reading blogs, searching for weird stuff on eBay, and attempting homework.

Recently I've become very inspired by the Australian pop/rock duo Savage Garden. I really can't explain why or how but it just happened. And now I will start a quest to find both of their CD's at the thrift store. I know I've come across at least one of their CD's while thrifting. I also hope to find a Savage Garden t-shirt as well. That would be ultimate! Oh and I plan on documenting this quest.

If you don't believe in their awesomeness then check out this video for the 90's love song "To the Moon and Back". This is also my favorite of the 3 versions there are of this video.

Take note of the rad outfits and cheesy special effects in the video. Also the lead singer gets a little too dramatic with his hand gestures. But besides all that I adore the video and the song.

How did my day go?
Well I pretty much didn't have any class, I played with my friend Candy's chinchilla, met with my Entrepreneurship group, attended open mic night, and had a delicious dinner. Pretty good day if you ask me. It could have been wayyyy worse.

Your Dreams And Your Hopeless Hair

I was watching the music video for Savage Garden's song "Crash 'n' Burn" and I noticed that at the end of the song Darren signs the lyrics instead of singing them, then the words "Communicate Any Way Any How" appear on the screen. I thought it was a really cool message he was sending.

Then I thought it would be really cool to become a sign language interpreter at concerts.

So today while I was running errands at the grocery store I thought to myself "how cool would it be if I heard a Savage Garden song on the speaker system" and sure enough "The Animal Song" came on. I started smiling because I couldn't believe the coincidence.
As I was exiting the grocery store I saw a couple communicating with each other through sign language. I stared at them for a bit just to make sure I understood what they were doing.

I took these coincidences as a sign.

My hair is getting longer and longer. I still have not cut it and maybe I should.
I'm trying to get back to my original hair do' from childhood. Here is my hair inspiration!

It's kind of ridiculous right?!

Future Husband:

Slim Twig as "Billy Zero" in The Tracey Fragments
Wasn't he just a little asshole in that movie.
I would marry the Billy Zero that existed in Tracey's mind :)
He was this totally awesome guy who becomes her savior and then when she really gets with him he's a total douche. Ugh! I know how that feels.

I Believe That God Does Not Endorse TV Evangelists

I recently bought my brother this button:

So he can get extra nerd points at the premiere of Watchmen.

And I'm bidding on a birthday present for him as we blog.
If you want to see what it looks like just google "Jabba Glob" and you will find out for yourself.
I was inspired to buy this present whilst reading MCR's blog. I love how oftend it is updated.
Or maybe I just love updated blogs.

I also recently had an idea for vlogging for a post instead of writing.
Maybe a video would be a really cool change of pace.

I've recently been inspired by the gay/lesbian/transgender/queer culture. Frank introduced me to the band Cocorosie and I was impressed with there mystical and androgynous style.
I've also been watching a lot of youtube videos of trannies and funny gay boys (Britney Houston, Tyler Oakley). And while browsing blogs I "stumbled" upon East Village Boys. The site is part homo-erotic photography and part artsy news blog. Very cute and very inspiring.

I'm still really into finding cool Christian music. Sarah showed me this song by Closer 2 Closure called "Rhyme or Reason". Another song by the same singer (Kellin Quinn) is called "Jesus in the Southern Sky". They are both really really beautiful and inspiring songs. Check them out if you're into that stuff.

I think it's safe to say that I am tired of the generic vintage clothing websites on Ebay. They only cater to girls of the same size and shape. And all the models look like they work at Urban Outfitters or Buffalo Exchange. The clothes are all too overpriced and very cliche'. What they are selling you is the "look" and not the actual clothing. You have to go out and buy all the accessories just to get what you paid for.

I'm trying to open my own online store soon and I'm definitely taking notes on what not to do.

Style Icon:

Diva Dompe
She's in the band BlackBlack.
She has some of the best stage outfits and hair.
And she's a very lovely mystical being.

Future Husband:

Mike White
He wrote and directed "Year of the Dog".
He also wrote "The Good Girl" and "Chuck and Buck".
I think he's just awesome.

We Are In Our Purest Forms

Today was a good day.
"they exist to give you something to regret, ill give them that."

I presented my shoe project in my Costume Design class this afternoon and it went well :)
I didn't think I would get such good feedback.
Today I was working on a neck ruff for the play Cyrano.
I hope to have it finished soon.

I have noticed that a lot of people are really into the mystical, majestic, and magical type of clothing lately. I have seen lots of American Indian inspired outfits and t-shirts around. Also a lot of natural and new age jewelry. Could this mystical thing be catching on?
I think so.

I don't know how i feel about the "25 Random Things About Me" note on Facebook. I am divided. I don't know if I hate the idea or if I hate the idea because everyone else is doing it.
And because NY Times wrote an article about it.
I just don't think I would be writing these things for the right reasons. I would be writing stuff to try and impress my friends on Facebook. And people already know a whole bunch of random stuff about me.

Things I want to do soon: photo shoot with Jen/Rebecca/Ingrid, create a zine, hand-made valentines day cards, knit something worthwhile, make a t-shirt of myself, self portraits, add to my youtube channel, general crafting, add to my online shop, etc.

Make Time Each Day To Pray

i miss you old friend... i can't wait to hear good things from you.

you know that feeling you get when you fall asleep in the middle of the day and you wake up and it's night already and you feel like you just wasted the WHOLE day?!!
yeah i got that.
the only way to redeem yourself is to get out of bed and do two nights worth of homework in one night.

I made a shoe for my Costume Design recently. It's made of foamy clay and looks like a jaw bone with teeth and a chicken bone heel. I'm not too proud of it. I imagined it would be a lot cooler.

i have never wanted to live in california as much as i do now. or as much as i will when coachella rolls around. this years lineup is pretty epic. it's better than last years ACL and probably this years SXSW combined.

i went out to a party this weekend. it was weird and so uncommon of me. so much so that people were surprised to actually see me there. it was a birthday party for my friend kenny. it was also civil war themed. possibly one of the coolest themed parties recently. i had a decent sober time.

I've been learning to knit recently. Just the other day I bought a proper pair of knitting needles and some brightly colored yarn. I tried to find good yarn at the thrift store but I wasn't about buying for color over texture. And I thought about unraveling a sweater with good yarn but that takes time and I wouldn't want to ruin a perfectly good sweater to make something dumb like a plain scarf. And a beginner's scarf at that.

I wish I had some cool yarn like this.

I don't want to knit lame things like shawls and blankets....unless they are rad of course.
My knitting hero is Twinkie Chan. She makes the most awesome knit/crochet accessories.

Future Husband:

ok so if i were a tranny...i'd marry Jake Shears of Scissor Sisters
there are a lot of gay or questionable men on my list of "future husbands". i have no other way to explain that except that i just really like gay guys!!
oh and by the way i'd be a voodoo shaman tranny that wore heels made of bone and hair.
just thought i'd throw that in.
